Back home for the long weekend! I left work around 1pm to drop off all the food donations. They all fit in my tiny car with the back seat down and the front seat filled with boxes. Felt good donating hundreds of items to the local food bank! Then did some work in Barnes & Noble, and then came home to wrap up some last minute data pull work before driving up to NY! 5 hour trip total with traffic, which isn't terrible. And when I got home the two minions were waiting for me and I played with them for a good while. They got all sweaty from jumping and running around. Good to see them again :)

Woke up to do a little bit of work but for the most part just played with the kiddies. Hung out with Jeffrey and Ranice for a bit in the afternoon - got fraps, played football and just bummed at Jeffrey's house. Then went to WSD dragonboat practice this afternoon and saw a few people I haven't seen in forever! Met back up with Jeffrey and Ranice and her boyfran afterwards for dinner. Kimchi fried rice was so delicious and spicy tuna kimbap too nomz.

Went to the city and got lunch with a college friend and it was good catching up. We were never really that close and it's cool to catch up after graduating. Then wandered around for a loooong time and plans with people just kept falling apart because either people were flakey or just weren't free. Flakey people are so annoying. But I wandered to the High Lines which I've been wanting to go for a long time. Such a nice weather today for it too. And then to Washington Square Park where I saw a bunch of hipsters dressed up and jumping/wadding in the fountain. Pretty crazy, only in New York City. And finally came home because happy hour plans fell through. But got to go to Long Island to see their Fourth of July fireworks and it wasn't bad. The town was sooo white though it felt a bit weird.

Last minute plans to go watch the Macy's fireworks in Brooklyn! Met up with Ranice and her UConn friends- all pretty chill. We waited on the Brooklyn Bridge Promenade from 5pm till 9:30 until the fireworks started. Played heads up and hummed/guessed songs while people walked by probably thinking wtf. The fireworks were pretty good and the view was amazing. Afterwards, we went to Ktown to eat at Pocha because we were staaarving. The food there never disappoints and by the time we left it was already close to 1.

Last day in NYC I met up with part of the 305 crew. Got soup dumplings in Chinatown with Mui, Hannah, Patty, Mau and Jackie and then got some Chinatown Ice Cream Factory and Kungfu Tea. Absorbing all the NYC food before I leave.

Imagine Dragons concert was aaaamazing! Before the concert, Peter, Margaret and I pregamed in Clarendon and then around Chinatown. Jalapeno margaritas from Matchbox was soo delicious, why didn't I discover this earlier. By the time we go to Verizon Center, we were decently drunk. Imagine Dragons played all their top songs, and even from the second to last row it was still awesome. We couldn't really see their faces, but they sounded great. While there, we made friends with these two blonde girls who were also there, and drank and danced with them throughout the whole concert. Everyone around us were pretty calm and then there were us.. haha. Such an awesome night with great music, fun people, and memorable stories :D

Last night was awesome... and this morning was such a struggle. Dragged myself to work and could not focus until like noon, and today was the busiest day of the week for me. Still living off the concert vibes from last night, Peter, Margaret and I got Taylor Swift concert tickets for next Tuesday. I am SOOO excited it's gonna be awesome. It was pretty pricey, but it'll be worth it. We debated for a while, but the figured 'who knows when is the next time she'll be around here?' and got the tickets.

Normal day at work. Had a Taylor Swift lyrics conversation with a director but it's all good, he's a big Tswift fan haha. After work I got groceries because I'm actually in DC all week this week for once, and was feeling Mexican so got ingredients for tacos. They're really easy to make and quick, so very efficient and satisfying!

Work: typical. Had a video crew shooting a video for Facebook, and I got to be in part of it but I'm not the main character. Then afterwork we went to a rooftop bar to finish the shoots - I'm just there as "props" to shoot the "play hard" scene lol. Very funny and embarrassing for the main person, but luckily it wasn't me. Then went to dragonboat and got soaked in the rain. It felt like hail coming down and it hurts!

Busy day at work but felt pretty good about all the stuff I finished. Went to Tyson's after to return some stuff and I realized I don't really like shopping. I just want to get what I need/want, and then leave and not waste any more time. Then went for a jog to Clarendon and back and wasn't really in the jogging mood, so only did about 2.2 miles. I worked on the video for DC Dragons for a bit, mainly trying to get Adobe Premiere on my computer. And then went to Snowcream to get a late night treat! Not so late actually, it was just 10pm. The line was the longest I've ever seen, all these Asian minions trying to get ice cream. Then spent a couple more hours picking songs and putting together 80% of the DCD video!

Went to dragonboat not knowing today's practice was cancelled because a regatta was going on, womps lost 1.5 hours of sleep. In the afternoon I went for a bike ride to Georgetown then around the Lincoln and back. Haven't rode my bike in so long I should get back into it, especially during the summer months. But DC needs to stop raining. On the way back got a little lost but stumbled upon this old buggie. Then played tennis at night for another 2 hours and now my legs are so sore.

Dragonboat practice on my off side today! Wasn't as bad as I thought but definitely a lot more tiring than expected. I came home to watch the finals of the Wimbledon and Djokovic won by like middle of the fourth set. Oh welps. in the afternoon I decided to go explore DC a bit since I haven't been in the city for so long. Got gelato from Pitangos - it got really high reviews on Yelp but I thought it was just average like any other gaelato. Then Jamba, and people watched at the Lincoln before heading down to Richmond.

Very productive day at work today. It was a slow morning, but got a lot of things done in the afternoon with all the meetings I had. Even had a froyo run as a meeting! Then went to the ADP networking reception dinner. It was pretty much a happy hour with food for 2 hours meeting the new ADPs. I talked to a bunch of the Cornell people, one of which will be joining my team! And then hung out with a Cornell guy and a few others that I also met during lunch when they interviewed. I recognize a lot of people from just the sell weekends and the BA lunches - pretty cool. Got food and drinks later on and just chatted about a bunch of random things.

I saw fuckin Taylor Swift and it was amazing!! Spent the first half of the day in Richmond and had lunch with a bunch of Cornell ADPers cause I was part of the peer panel. I like the new class an excited to hang out with them. Then the drive back to DC to go see Tswizzles! Pregamed at Peter's for a good amount playing Kings, which I haven't played in ages. And then we went to the Nats stadium just in time for the first songs. The openers dropped out cause of the rain, but at least the first song was Welcome to NY so I didn't really care a whole lot. But all her others songs were amaaaaaaazing and she was so good live. Even sang Love Story and You Belong With Me those were classics. So sad to see her leave without an encore, but until next time, I will live through her recordings on YouTube! <3

Taylor Swift withdrawal all day, wish I could see her again. Not much of an exciting day today. Got supplies for the volunteering event after work and realized my car barely fits the 6 cases of water. Had to squeeze things and shifts things around, but I managed!

Had a bit of a fire drill at work with one of our platforms, but we identified the issue and fixed it relatively quickly. And signed my my apartment lease this morning!! Got it done first thing in the morning and we're gonna be getting a huuuge apartment for a pretty good price. Excited to have a big living room and my own bathroom, and an actual bedroom!!

Capital One volunteering day! Which is an excuse to skip work and start the weekend early. We went somewhere in Bethesda to do painting, pulling out weeds, and cleaning out an attic. I was part of the painting crew and it was nothing exciting. Went around a few times taking pictures of people hard at work and sweating heh. We were done by 2 but I just did a bit of work from home and took the rest of the day off :D

Big congrats to Peter and Liangsha on getting married!! It started with the ceremony at a Catholic Church in Bethesda, and I was so confused the whole time. Didn't know what I was should/shouldn't be doing because there's different things that you'd do if  you're a Catholic. Wendy seemed to know a bit more than me, so glad at least someone knew what was going on. Then we headed over to the reception/dinner in Falls Church. The place was so nice with a view of the lake (don't know which lake..)! Open bar for the entiiiire time. We casually drank at first, just a few drinks here and there, while talking to different people and taking pictures at the photo booth. Then there was dinner with speeches from the best man, maid of honor, groomsmen and bridesmaids. A lot of the speeches talked about Peter's partying stories at JHU, but Peter's siblings' speeches were soooo sweet. So genuine and you can tell they are really close and really do care a lot about each other. Both of them teared up it was so sweet omgah. Then once dinner was over, we started taking shots after shots and it got more rowdy on the dance floor. Everyone dressed up nicely, and decently buzz maybe even drunk, it was a good time. After the wedding, met up with a few people and then headed to DC for the afterparty. It wasn't all that fun, just at a bar and it was reallllly hot still in the suit. It was so gross and humid and I couldn't do much about it. Walked by the White House at like 2am, then got &pizza before heading home at like 4am. Haven't been out that late in forever x.x

Went to Eastern Market today and man, it was hot as balls today. Literally dripping from just walking in the sun it was like 95 degrees but definitely felt like over 100. Always nice seeing the artsy stuff at Eastern Market and see what vendors there are. Got food at the market inside and I wasn't even that hungry all I wanted was something cold to drink. Went to Snocream afterwards and it was perfect weather for it. What an exciting weekend, womp but the weekend ovah.

The day flewww by today. Had thing to do here and there and before I knew it it was already 4:30 and I had so much more I needed to get done. Recruiting and bringing PAM to campus is taking up so much of my time. The new ADPs joined us in the team room today... Interesting observing them and seeing how they behave.

Super busy day today. A lot of onboarding for the new ADP but it's so much easier because she interned before so she has a good understanding of Capital One data already. Caught up with Margaret about all the stories from Peter's wedding, and so many funny stories!! Haha. And fun times trolling John Greene lolol. Then spent like 3 hours at night finishing some stuff and the majority of the time planning recruiting events. Together me and Bev probably sent 20 emails tonight alone.

Fun day today! Pretty much started drinking at 11am, and continued drinking throughout the day for the next 12 hours. The Squirrels baseball game was lame, but had a lot of fun times and got to know people more over the huge 32 oz beers. So much liquid no can do. A lot of stupid stuff we talked about and a lot was not work appropriate, but the people were all chill and didn't care. Then we crashed one of the team member's happy hour and kept drinking there. Then from there, went to a Richmonder's house nearby to play beer pong. Haven't played in forever, but was undefeated and got the last cup in all 3 games!! I think half was luck haha. But we also played slap cup and flip cup and all that jazz, so fun to play drinking games again. Ended the night at Bar Louie with munchies.

Happy birthday to my mommy! The birthday card she gave me in 2000, when I was 8 years old. I remember this was at the Jekyll and Hyde restaurant in NYC, and it's actually a happy anniversary card haha. Today was a struggle. So tired from yesterday, and was in an all-day session today to brainstorm about upcoming big projects. Played tennis tonight and man, I was so light headed the first time. I felt like I was buzz and feeling all the residual alcohol from yesterday.

Work today flew by fast, partially because I left at 3:30 to start drinking wine and prepping for Jazz in the Garden. 3 people for 2 and a half bottles, by the time we go into DC we were sufficiently intoxicated, and then got another pitcher of Sangria. Didn't hear all that much jazz, but had a lot of sangria and chatting with people. Afterwards, went to John's apartment nearby and then it was all a blur... We played pong, drank on the balcony, and then went up to the roof to grill some sausages. Don't even know how late we stayed there. When we left, I thought I was able to find the metro, but I just walked in circles. And then called an Uber to the wrong location D: But finally got an Uber to bring us back to Ballston. Such a long night but fun times.

Woke up feeling like shizzz. But that went away after my BOGO Chiptole and some Advil :) Hung out with people just bumming in the apartment, watching Awkward and recovering. Then played tennis for a while but was so tired. Got some bubble tea and then started devising our plan to build our own pong table!! Went to Home Depot to scout out the materials, and it's actually pretty expensive building your own table. Wood is pricey!!

Woke up nice and early for dragonboat. Today's practice was just a bunch of race sims, not too bad but didn't feel like I worked out all that much. After practice we were starving, so Christine and I found a crepe place in Clarendon called Oby Lee for noms. It's not the typical flashy brunch restaurant, which I would try to avoid. The crepe weren't bad - we both got something with salmon and eggs, and also got mimosas. The mango one was delicious, a bit embarrassing carrying both out though :X Then in the afternoon I went for a 5+ mile jog to Georgetown Waterfront. Probably walked a good amount of it, and forgetting to bring water was the worse mistake D: Chugged a bottle of Gatorade and water once I got home and then headed down to Richmond.

Slept terribly last night - woke up every couple of hours and decided to get up at 6 to gym and get some work done. Think it was cause stuff was on my mind bothering me. But anyway, all-day research sessions all day and watched the moderator interviewed six participants. Was interesting at first, and then got sooo exhausting, especially on the drive back to DC. But picked up this bottle of Hermann Wiemer at Wegman's - eggcited to open it!

Work was the usual. Biked to DC after work around the Lincoln and people watched for a while. Found this couple really cute, especially with the Pokeball backpack haha. Then it started raining while I was hanging out by the Lincoln... But it passed pretty quickly and I biked by Georgetown back home. Needed some fresh air to clear my mind and the bike ride helped.

Struggle today to wake up for the gym, and snoozed for an hour before waking up for work. Busy day as usual, got feedback from manager and the next six month is gonna be a busy agenda for me as expected. I already feel the work piling up and not having enough time during the day. After work, went to the Jefferson just to get some fresh air. The weather was also beautiful today, so I stayed there for over an hour, sitting just over the ledge of the Tidal Basin watching the sunset. It's so peaceful and quiet there, a very different vibe than the Lincoln.

I'm starting to like the new location that my team moved to. It feels so start-up-y and everyone's so talkative and open. I'm liking the team dynamic more and more and it's exciting to hang out with these people! Dragonboat in the evening went well, last practice before the Richmond race I'm so excited! Then afterwards met up with a few people at Spider Kelly's to play shuffle board and some darts.

TGIF. But woke up at 4am to drive Christine to the airport. Had ambitious plans to gym and head to the office super early, but came back home and couldn't do it so slept until 7:30.. Fridays at work is always half play half work. Nothing different today. Lots of joking around and goofing around but at the same time got a good amount done. Was so exciting I got my docking station, but all the wires are bothering me so much. In the evening went to a friend's birthday BBQ celebration and had some drinks and just hung out on the patio. Pretty chill Friday night which was good compared to the night out last night.
