"Good Morning 2015"
Literally morning for all of us even though it was at 3pm. Everyone woke up still drunk from last night but the Pho really hit the spot. Great way to welcome the new year by curing some hangover with Pho haha. We all just went home afterwards for some much needed recovery.

"Think Over"
Woke up to Chloe and Evelyn playing Connect Four. Don't think Chloe understands the concept but she tried to make a pattern. Got dim sum with the family for lunch and then hung out with a friend in Flushing and Bayside. We had no plans in mind and just walked around and decided things on the fly. Then at night I met up with Rafey for some intense catch-up. Haven't seen him in almost a year and yet things don't feel any different, those are the best.

"Open Possibilities"
Not sure how much longer I'll keep up the themed 365 challenge because I feel like it's too restrictive. But anyway, got lunch with a bunch of people at New World Mall today, one last time before work picks up for everyone again. The weather today was gross so it was a pain walking around in the snow/rain. After lunch, Hannah, Susan, Shah and I went to Odd Fellows to get ice cream; the Apple Crisp was pretty good! And right after we got coffee at Blue Bottle.

"A Reflection of Me"
Back to NoVa today. The drive down wasn't bad at all except for the fact that I was really sleepy. I gave Katy a ride too and we stopped by Sally's Delaware apartment on the way. We timed it so well because me and Sally both got there at the exact same time, literally. Sally has so many pictures in her room and it's majority of the 306 crew, I miss it so much. Katy and I didn't stay long and I ate dinner at Katy's house when I dropped her home. Her mom made Korean dumpling soup, homecooked dinner so delicious.

"Ensemble"
First day back at work - the entire morning was such a struggle. Getting out of bed was so hard this morning and I had two cup of coffee in the morning just to get started. A lot of catching up on emails at work today and finalizing a few projects. After a long and exhausting day, I drove down to Richmond just for tonight. I really enjoy driving alone actually, it feels so free with the music blasting and just doing my own thing. Had soo much sushi for dinner but it was delicious, definitely satisfied my cravings.

"Where I Stand"
In Richmond today and I avoided the 4-inch snow storm in DC. Apparently everyone's working from home because the streets aren't plowed. 4 inches would be normal up in Ithaca.. Got Elephant Thai for dinner and the chili duck over rice was really delicious. Then I spent the rest of the night playing around with a new website I'm building on Weebly. So many CSS/Html codes that are so frustrating.

"Solitude"
Work was really busy today with a bunch of stuff coming in throughout the day. It was also so sub-freezing today it was so cold. The drive up to DC was pretty tiring, for some reason I was exhausted today from staring at the computer screen for so long. There's snow/ice on the ground in DC and the temperature is in the teens, if not single digits. I miss the snow, but definitely not the cold. Spent another few hours on Weebly.

"My Gear"
Super cold today, like teens cold. My cold tolerance has gone down significantly since I left Ithaca. I thought I'd get some warmth in the office since my sunroom doesn't have heat, but today my team room didn't have heat either ._. I ended up finding a random room and just stayed there the whole day. After work I met up with Nancy and Cynthia at Tyson's and chatted/caught up. Nice seeing familiar faces again, and I realized I've been lacking so much derpiness when I'm at Capital One. Missed Nancy's derp moments.

Slow day at work, just chugging along to finish the first week back from break. And I got a nerfgun as a gift for winning the most number of steps challenge a few months back. New distraction in the team room! Most of the evening/night was pretty slow until I went out to Adams Morgan at like 12:30. Such a late start, but a really fun night. Met up with Alice and her GW friends and barhopped around the area. Soooo cold last night, but after a few drinks it didn't feel so cold anymore haha. Towards the end of the night lots of things happened, but t'was all good in the end! :)

01102015
Woke up so tired from all the partying last night, but had a great time. Ran a few errands before picking up Alice from work to get our Chick Fil-A fix. Never knew there was a Chick Fil-A sauce and it's delicious! It was such a good meal and we've both been craving it for so long. The rest of the afternoon was a struggle to stay awake, and eventually I gave in and took a short nap. At night a couple of people went over to a friend's place and just played Rock Band and Just Dance lol. Chill kind of night, but I don't mind it. The weekend's almost over womp.

So nice to sleep in today. Bummed around the apartment for quite a while before venturing outside to get bubble tea and go to Barnes & Noble to get some stuff done. The Thai Milk Tea really satisfied my craving, so worth it. Then went to Barnes & Noble to edit more of my website and make more changes. I'm finally done!! tingalinggg.weebly.com. Did some more bumming at night and started watching a chick flick, In Your Eyes, until I went out to meet up with Alice. Meep another weekend gone.

I'm slacking off on taking a picture of the topic for that day. But it rained all day and today's topic was "frost," so it's excusable. Mondays have never been such a struggle. Slept really late last night hanging out and watching TV and had to wake up every earlier this morning. The weather was disgusting too, which made the day go by even slower. But woke up to a good start, and then my day just got boring-er and boring-er and sleepier and sleepier.

"A Pop of Color"
Womp.
Wasn't very productive at work today. Was gonna leave at like 2 and head to D.C. to say bye to Alice, but she was too busy wrapping stuff up at the office and had to head to Reagan to catch her flight back to NY :( Until next time! After work I stopped by a camera store to see what lens I should get, and the guy told me about a 24-70mm lens with fixed aperture of f2.8. It's sooo nice. Hopefully I'll get it in the next month or two.

010142015
Productive day. Set up the ground rules for the team room nerf gun target practice. 50 cents per 6-shot round, and whoever hits the tiny quarter-sized target keeps the pool. So far there's 1 winner and he won $2 haha. Some underground gambling in my team. Oh, and woke up to a thin layer of snow on the ground this morning. After work, decided to go for a jog and it felt pretty good. And at night I watched American Sniper, a very typical war movie but it was pretty good.

"First Taste"
Busy day and productive day at work yet again. Got more deets about Cornell recruiting, pretty excited to lead the SWE Dinner and Career Fair this year. Pretty excited in general to be part of the Cornell recruiting core team! Met up with 2 high school seniors for the Cornell contact meeting after work to answer any questions they had. They're so young omg. It was so nostalgic telling them about my favorite memory about Cornell and just talking about campus in general. One of them actually knows who Nancy is, she's seen her pop on her friend's Facebook before. Speaking of Nancy.. bumped into her mom in the elevator at Capital One today. Never met Mama Wang before but apparently she knew me and my name. Had to ask how she knows Nancy and she said cause Nancy's her daughter. Must've been an amusing elevator ride for the rest of the people in the elevator. Talked with Alice for over 2 hours at night to talk about... everything, literally. It was great, so glad we can be straightforward about everything on our minds and still be such good friends. :) Definitely miss these late night conversations, hopefully more to come.

01162015
Went out to Sushi Yoshi for lunch today with work peep, it was pretty good! After work I stopped by Dominion Camera again to see the different lenses, and decided on getting the Sigma 17-50 mm lens, but I'll but it refurbished online instead of new in stores. At night, I went to World of Beer with Jay and Michael and we had some pretty good conversations. About Capital One as a whole, and then went into a in-depth conversation about how people's behaviors are based on rational decisions. It's true, because ration is defined very loosely; it can be emotional, financial, mental, or what not, but if we dig deep enough it'll be a ration decision that will benefit the most for us. Very interesting conversation and pretty fitting for my current situation.

Got my roadbike today! Woke up to meet up with the person selling it near Dupont and I didn't find anything wrong with the bike and it was in pretty good condition. Brought the price down to $410 and just bought it there. Took it out for a test ride to Lincoln Memorial today and it's really nice. But it really hurts my butt because there's no shocks and the seat's not very comfortable. Eventually I'll develop some butt resistant to it. Today was so sunny and such a nice day to be out too. At night a couple of us got together and watched Nebraska. The movie's too slow for me I was falling asleep.

"Balance"
Woke up at 7am today for the flag football game, but after I got dressed and ready I got an email saying its cancelled because of the rain. Back to bed! But then to be woken up at 10 by people texting me. Eventually got up and met at Triple B Taste, a Korean Chiptole-like place, to get lunch. Since we were around Dupont we stopped by the farmers market and tasted some cow cheese there. Some were quite distasteful. Made our way across D.C. to the botanical garden and it was actually nicer than I expected. It's small enough to not be tired after walking the whole thing. Then went to the Hirshhorn museum of modern art, where everything was so...hip.. I don't think I can appreciate modern art haha. Had some downtime in the evening where I watched Step Up Revolution before heading to Jay's for some quick rounds of beer pong. Then now about to watch Puss in Boots with Alice! Even though we're like in different cities... Womp hope I don't fall asleep.

019/365
01192015
Got the day off for MLK Day today. Planned on getting dim sum at China Garden, but when we got there realized it's a Monday and there's no dim sum, so ended up going to Delhi Club for Indian buffet! Reminded me of going to Sangam for weekend buffet at Cornell. Miss it so much. Went out for a quick bike ride to Bluemont Park and realized how easily I get tired from biking. Then the drive down to Richmond!

020/365
01202015
One of those days where I don't have any work for a while, and then everything piles on all at once. On a happier note, I got one of the last rooms in the Statler for recruiting! Now just gotta book my flight up to Ithaca and I should be set. Got dinner at European Taste in this tiny strip mall in Richmond, and the best part was the owners. It's a husband/wife-runned restaurant and they're so jolly and friendly. The food was pretty good but it's such a good feeling being around happy and cheerful people. Would definitely go back just to see them again.

"Meal"
Such a long day today. Attending a marketing meeting where different companies come and talk about their marketing strategies/findings, it was really interesting actually. But then I had a bunch of meetings and things to take care of here and there, so didn't stay for the entire meeting. Cornell recruiting planning takes sooo much time, literally the entire afternoon. Hopefully it won't be as bad tomorrow because I need to get some stuff done before training next week. On the way back got some sushi from Richmond for dinner. Nom.

"Color Blocking"
Super hectic day, literally didn't have a break all day not even for lunch. Got pulled into a meeting midway through my lunch while working on some stuff too. But it's all good, making lots of progress! And finishing stuff up before going to training next week. Manager didn't care how I book my rental car next week, he's just like 'Whatever works for you, man.' The best. Destressed by going for a jog tonight since it was pretty warm - 40's. Then watched Step Up All In, not as good as the previous ones though.

"On the Third"
TGIF, actually. Relatively easy day, just wrapped up a bunch of stuff and had a pretty successful meeting with a few partner teams to discuss test results. Left work at like 3pm haha, because I had no work and my manager left. Went to Georgetown Waterfront with Jay for a bit and just walked around. Oh, and got a rental car, bummers it's just an Elantra though, but oh wells. Not an exciting Friday night, just played casual pong and watched Snowpiercer, not my type I fell asleep...

024/365
01242015
Lazy bum Sunday. Went to the library to get some books for the flight to and from Ithaca, and then went on a bike ride to Target to get new shoelaces! Maroon shoe laces on my shoes, but most people said nay to it :(. I'LL SEE. Then fiiiinally satisfied my pho craving since like 2 weeks ago. It was so delicious. Then just a bum night at home with movies, wine and Skype. :)

025/365
01252015
Woke up pretty early for the football game in DC this morning. It was really fun actually, and the free agents team was actually really good. Everyone was so good and it was just me and my friend we were probably the worse, but they're chill so it's fine heh. We beat the other team 74-20, it's ridiculous. Spent the afternoon getting some things done before driving down to Richmond. Got dinner at the Tobacco Company in Downtown and ordered so much food I'm so bloated. Seriously need to take it down a notch on the eating during these training weeks..

026/365
01262015
First day of training, actually pretty interesting classes. But it was still a struggle to stay awake without coffee. A few of us went to downtown Richmond to eat a Edo's Squid, this apparently really good restaurant. It was good, but wasn't as good as people hyped it up to be. Pretty quiet night afterwards, just watched the Australian Open Quarterfinals and Nadal lost.

027/365
01272015
Snowflakes frosted on my car window this morning. Training was super boring today, but managed to chug along through the day until the networking event at G-Force Go Karts! The go karts were sooo fast and I was able to drift on the turns, but spun out once and got stuck for a while lol. Then played laser tag where I ranked first heh. Laser tag is a lot more tiring than I expected and got pretty sweaty. Then played paintball and archery-styled paintball as well. Those were really tiring as well. To end the night, a couple of us got drinks at Rock Bottom. Never realized, but their drinks are actually really good, should start going more frequently.

028/365
01282015
Had to wake up at 6:45 to take the bus up to McLean. Doesn't make sense since majority of us are McLean-based, but oh well I just napped on the bus. T'was a struggle to stay awake the whole day, but the digital presentations were pretty interesting. Tried Kenji hibachi for the first time and it was pretty good! The steak and lobster was really delicious :D Then we hung out at Rock Bottom for some drinks and watched the women's Semifinal where Sharapova advances to the Finals against Serena Williams!

029/365
01292015
Training as usual, some classes were interesting and others not. We had a snowflake simulation where we had to sell the most paper-cut snowflakes to maximize profit. And my team won, even though I stepped out for a phone call for the majority of the round haha, but got a $15 Target giftcard. Got dinner at Lehja's and it was pretty satisfying. And while hanging out in the Hyatt lobby, got invited to a hotel party/hang out upstairs with the Chicago crew. Drank a few beers but nothing crazy and just chatted. Off to Ithaca tomorrow!

Exhausting day of traveling.. I over estimated how much time it'd take to return rental car and get through security at Richmond airport, and was siting in front of my gate 2 hours early... Layover at Philly for 3 hours and the terminal was so boring. Then.... first the flight to Ithaca got delayed, then cancelled. But I was lucky enough to get on a flight to Syracuse. Around 8 of us did that and we were all talking about how to get to Ithaca from Syracuse. Luckily there was a Cornell MBA program coach bus that was picking up people from Syracuse and then picked us up too! It was snowing pretty hard the entire drive to Ithaca. Finally got here and it was so hard walking in snow in dress shoes, but made it to Lauren's! Chatted for quite a while before Asian Noodle House, good old place, and Kung Fu Tea!! At night, after being so lazy, I finally went out at midnight with Alex Cheng. I forgot how cold it is going out in the winter... Saw a bunch of people at the party and eventually we ended up to chill at Alex's apartment.

Woke up exhausssted from last night, but all was good. Caught up with Ying in the afternoon over bubble tea and Starbucks, and then went with Kevin and Ming to Wegman's since I had nothing else to do haha. It's so relaxing being on campus with no work at all, but everyone else was busy :/ Then made a trip to Target to get craft supplies with Lauren, and remembered how much I dislike the TCAT. And got Oishi Bowl for dinner, it was actually not as bad as I thought, but there are better ramen out there. Watched the Imitation Game over dinner - very interesting movie, and then helped Lauren with her Valentine's Day gift!

2015: Project 365

This is my third year in a row doing the 365 challenge. I really enjoy it because it makes me use my camera more often when I might otherwise neglect it, and I encourage everyone to try it at least once!

This year I'm going to do a slight variation of the 365 challenge. I found a website (Capture Your 365) that emails me a topic for me to photograph every day. It'll be a fun challenge since I'll focus on a new topic each day and it'll be interesting to see what kind of photos I take.
