Woke at 4am to head to Richmond for the dragonboat race! Second day in a row waking up at 4am it's such a struggle. The race went well - just 3 500m races. Today was also probably the hottest day of the week hovering around 95 degrees. I would be sitting there and just be sweating. Between races we played sand volleyball and threw a football around, and I also took a very comfortable nap under the table, where it's cleanest and not in anyone's way. In the final race, we were seeded 2 seconds behind 2nd place and 3 seconds behind first. We had a really good start, but in the end lost to 2nd place by .2 seconds. .2!!!!! That's like one extra umph, one extra push ugh. More motivation to work out harder to beat them at the DC race later this month. Then the sushi buffet at Sushi King was amaaazing. We ordered a ridiculous amount of food, but I starved myself all day for this. At night, I drove to Baltimore to meet up with a bunch of family friends since they were in town!

Hung out at the Hyatt with the bunch for a while, and a few of us came to DC to hang out. Walked around Georgetown Waterfront and did a flash tour of the memorials/White House since they were only here for the afternoon. Today was also super hot, and I already had enough sun from yesterday's race, so it was a struggle walking around DC. But we hit up all the good places, and omg tried Jumbo Jumbo in Rockville for the first time and it's so good! Definitely worth going back but so far D:

Worked from home today, so went to Buzz Bakery for the morning. Haven't been there in a while and it's nice being back! In the afternoon flew to Chicago and this time my itinerary isn't as touristy as last time, since I already did all the newbie stuff last time. Tried out Goat & the Girl, one of the top rated restaurants in Chicago. since the wait was long, we bar hopped around and then came back to eat tapas style dinner. The food was good, but pricey for its portions but that's fine. Afterwards, we got gelato at Amorino's and then went to hookah for a bit. Tonight wasn't a crazy night so we sang Britney songs all the way back to Downers Grove.

Planning session today which was alright. After work we made our way to Downtown! First stop was the Sears Tower. I've been up before, but it's nice to go up again and see the glass box that overlooks 103 stories down. This time it's so crowded, probably because it's earlier in the evening and during summertime. Then we got dinner at La Sirena Clandestina in West Loop. It's like Latin American food and actually pretty delicious. West Loop also has really pretty restaurants for nice photos! Then we went to Navy Pier to watch the fireworks, except couldn't find parking so just double parked to watch it. Then Chinatown to look for Joy Yee cause apparently it has really good bubble tea, but couldn't find it!! Settled for unsatisfying Kung Fu Tea instead, and ended up finding Joy Yee afterwards. Last stop was Three Dots and a Dash, a Hawaiian tiki bar in River North. Heard good reviews about this bar from 3 different people so decided to check it out. It was a bit sketch in a back alley, but inside was so nice and the drink was sooo delicious! Caribbean rum and passion fruit, omg I can drink that all day.

Headed to Downtown at 3 today, and still hit traffic and took an hour to get there. I made a pit stop at Logan Square area to get Intelligentsia Coffee, supposedly good coffee, but I thought it was just alright. The coffee shop was very hipster and cool though. Then made my way to North Avenue Beach. It's soooo much nicer than I expected. The water was pretty clean, much cleaner than NY, and there were so many activities going on - jet skies, volleyball, etc... It seems like the place where locals go. I watched 2 vs. 2 sand volleyball for a bit before getting Portillo's Italian beef. This was better than the Chicago hot dog I got last time. Then I tried to go to French Market in West Loop, but it closed by the time I got there so I just wandered around West Loop for the third day in a row. Got myself some Joy Yee's bubble tea, which was better than Kung Fu but still meh. And had time to kill so drove a couple miles south to University of Chicago. The school's in a pretty ghetto area and the campus was soo quiet. I went into this open building and was a bit creeped out cause no one was inside. Their glass dome library was pretty cool though. Then drove back to downtown to meet up with Manita and Graham for drinks at the Hard Rock Hotel. Got watermelon mojito which was pretty good, we chatted for a bit and then it was time for bed time.

Flew back from Chicago and went into the office for a bit. Went for a jog around National Mall after work with Margaret and kinda explored DC along the way. We went into Jazz in the Garden and it was really good, and then lied down at the base of the Washington Monument. We were trendsetters cause people starting doing it after we did it! Ended the night with some Snocream :)

Kollaboration DC's 6th showcase today!! We were at the theater at 1pm to prep/setup when the show starts at 8. So exhausted before the show even started. During the show, I stayed at the front doing photos, and then eventually roamed around getting different shots. The performers were all really good and it was tough to determine who will win. Then we went on with the guest performers and at the very end of the show announced winners, and Audrey won!! She was in my top 3 and her performance really got the crowd going. Then the afterparty.... Got a ride to The Park with one of Scott's friend, and on the drive there we took swigs straight out of the bottle. And then when we got there we took like 3-4 back to back rounds. Had a Blue Motorcycle and Four Horsemen, both of which were pretty much all liquor. And then the rest of the night was just in and out for me and I died. D:

Struggle bus all day today. Heard about the rest of the night and what everyone else did through Christine because I don't remember a majority of it haha. And then went to Rockville with Margaret to get her car and ate at Jumbo Jumbo - their chicken is still so amazing. Then movie hop time! Mission Impossible and Ant Man, both of which were really good! MI is always a good watch with good humor, but Ant Man was really funny!

Work was such a struggle today because I think I got sick Friday night, and then it just got worse over the weekend. And today as the day went on I felt worse and worse but had to talk during meetings meep. I was like dying. Post work ran some errands and got groceries, and tried making Asian bone soup, but it didn't turn out that well womp. So just had chicken and zucchinis for dinner, weird combo but easy and noms.

Presented my analysis and everything went well. Whew, now the pressure's off my back and I can do the few follow ups leisurely. Then came down to Richmond a little earlier to get Tobacco Company prime rib with Margaret and Brandon. Learned lots about the Marines and the inter-military branch rivalry between the different branches. Ended the night with some Gelato - butter pecan and espresso oreo. Yums.

All day conference about digital analytics today. The day seemed forever, but the topics were actually really interesting. I wanna do more visualizations since I'm so picky about coloring, layout, and formatting. It would be cool to get into that kind of projects. Also, there's bikes on Richmond campus now! During break a bunch of us went bike riding around campus it was so awesome!

Work was super chill today. Did a bunch of recruiting work and not much actual work, and then had lunch with the new Cornell ADPs. Left the office at 1:30 to explore DC with Christine. We went to the Hirshhorn, and was done with it in like 45 minutes because we were both fast museum goers, which I like. Then walked all the way to the Lincoln to sit there and people watch for a bit. It was so hot and the walk was quite lengthy. Some recovery time at home, and some much needed nap time before getting dinner with a bunch of her friends. We got Korean food and drank too, learned a new game called fingers. I lost the first time, and almost again the second D: Everyone else continued drinking at people's apartment, but we went to the Jefferson to just sit by the water and talk. T'was a relaxing way to end the night with some late night adventures!

Moving day sucks. Took me a while to move all my stuff from the old apartment down the block to the new apartment. Even carried and walked a few tables over, and pushed my mattress on those bell carts down the street. After moving, went to Jack's apartment for BBQ pool part. The food wasn't good, but we made homemade ice cream/shake that was pretty noms. At night, went out to Rosslyn with Christine and met a bunch of people who knew my close friends from Stuy. What a small world! Oh and we played pong on the balcony and I sucked D:

Such a struggle to wake up since I didn't really sleep much last night. Went dragonboat and then met up with the family in Rockville for lunch. Saw the two little minions and played with them a bunch. We went to Georgetown Waterfront and played in the water for quite a while. They were having a blast and getting soaked, and I was getting soaked playing with them but it was lots of fun. Then went to the White House and Evelyn said George Washington lives in the White House because his house is white. Bahaha. Got dinner at Founding Farmers and then came back to the apartment. Played with them around the apartment for a bit before they passed out lol.

Went to work for a little bit but left early and met up with the family. We went to the pool in my apartment and played with them for like 2 hours. The pool's actually pretty nice and I'm excited to start using it! That pretty much took up the whole day. Then after they fell asleep, got Pho 75 and walked around the monuments for a while.

Work was busy today, but that mad time pass faster. There's too few hours in a day! After work, Christine and I went to Gravelley Point to watch planes take off/land. That place is always so relaxing even though all we do is just sit and wait for planes to come/leave. It was overcast so wasn't even that hot, just perfect. We chatted for a bit about all sorts of random stuff. I made a Target run to get household supplies. So fun to shop for a new apartment but also such a pain to figure out what I need and unpack. As I unpacked, Christine came over and we just chatted while I sorted out the last bits of my room. I realized I have a bunch of stuffed animals and figurines. She hid them all throughout my room and took me a long time to retrieve them, and still not even sure if I found all of them. D:

Was in a recruiting simulations game training today. It was fun playing the simulation game myself, and my team scored the highest, amongst the supposedly 10% of students who score that high wooh! After work, went to Georgetown with Margaret, Wendy and Stephen for restaurant week at Filomena. It was delicious! We were filled just with the appetizers, and when the entrees came they were huge! We all only made a little progress on the pasta and packed the rest to go. The dessert cake was ginormous and all so delicious too omgg. Afterwards, we had plans of walking all the way back to Courthouse. We walked along the waterfront for a bit and decided it was wayyy too hot, so caught a bus to come home.
